Last day of school and school’s out. I’m out.

(For the new folks: I work as the tech director for a school district in my day job. I work through the summer, but things get a lot easier when the teachers and students aren’t around.)

Last week was recovery week from my workouts. I’m feeling a lot better. My forearm still hurts a bit, but my joints are feeling much better. I’m looking forward to getting back on the bench and back in the dojo.

So it was network upfronts last week, and I’m sure most comics fans have probably all heard that NBC passed on Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt’s The Sixth Gun. This, coming on the heels of learning that Chew’s off the table, just adds to a long line of comic book adaptations that just haven’t really seen a lot of good news (Powers, Wonder Woman, Preacher, et al.). Which is complete garbage, because with the backing of people like Carlton Cuse (Lost) and a pretty awesome cast, it seemed like an obvious choice in a world that is admittedly, pretty open to being exposed to a) zombies (The Walking Dead); b) cowboy-esque dramas (Deadwood); and c) comic-based things (everything).

Apparently, it’s still got some zombie-esque life still in it, as people connected with the pilot have been saying, and there’s a chance that it could still be picked up by another network or a cable network. So I made a song in support, and in the hopes, that we will one day get to see The Sixth Gun on television. And as a shout-out and a thank you to all-around nice guys Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt, for continuing to make such an amazing comic.

What’s that? You haven’t read The Sixth Gun?
